CANCELED: Pups Without Parters’  greyhound adoption event Sunday, Feb. 10 from noon-3, at Petco, 340 Grasmere Ave., Fairfield.

Watch fro rescheduled event.

PWP has a thorough adoption application and home visit prior to adoption and charge an adoption fee to cover a portion of the expenses the group has incurred. The program is run solely by volunteers and all monies raised support the mission of placing these greyhounds when their racing careers are finished.

PWP started 18 years ago at the Shoreline Star Greyhound Park and has been going strong even after the track closed. Currently they just built a small kennel at their president’s home in West Haven. All of the dogs are brought up from Florida which is costly to the group and have all their vet work done prior to adoption. The group then either house the dogs at their kennel or utilize foster homes throughout Fairfield and New Haven county.
