Town Clerk Derek Buckley met with First Selectman Tom Herrmann this morning at 10 a.m. and reached an agreementabout turning over the GIS MAP data, both men said.
“We reached an agreement about how to proceed, and I put it in writing,” Mr. Buckley said. He declined further comment.
Mr. Herrmann said that Mr. Buckley agreed to turn over the data but said that the town clerk added as an additional condition that the Board of Selectmen take action to relieve him of any liability personally or as town clerk with respect to the transfer of map data. That and other conditions were part of a message that Mr. Herrmann received from Mr. Buckley after the meeting. No action has been taken on the conditions.
The two men met with Brian, Bidolli, Greater Bridgeport Regional Business Council executive director, earlier this week,
and Mr. Buckley agreed to turn over the map data, Mr. Herrmann told the Board of Selectmen at its Feb. 7 meeting as added agenda item .
“Derek agreed the information would be transferred,” Mr. Herrmann said. “Now we will develop a go forward plan.”
The Board of Selectmen will not schedule a Town Meeting on a regional GIS mapping system on the advice of counsel.
The selectmen will schedule an information session about the GIS system in conjunction with another public meeting, such as the Town Meeting on the budget. The date will be set a future time.
