No kidding: April Fools Day race for DARE set for March 30

Food sponsor sought to feed runners after Easton race

Race for DareThe Easton Police Department’s 14th annual April Fools Day race for DARE will soon be off and running, but it won’t be on April Fools Day, April 1, no kidding.

This year’s race is set for Saturday, March 30, at 9:30 a.m., rain or shine.

The race starts and finishes at Samuel Staples Elementary School, 515 Morehouse Road, Easton. Pre-registration is $18, with race day registration from 8 to 9 a.m. is $20.

Runners can register at the race website, DareRace.MusicManiaDJs.com.

Officer Mark Pastor, event organizer, is seeking a new food sponsor to feed the runners after the race. The sponsor is usually a restaurant, he said.

Any restaurant interested in sponsoring the race can call the Easton Police Department at 203-268-4111 or send an email to dareu@eastonctpolice.com.

Post race food, awards ceremony and raffle prizes will be offered with a T-shirt guaranteed to all pre-registered runners.

The first male and female overall finishers and the top three male and female finishers in each age category will receive trophies along with the first male and female Easton resident.

Sponsors include Music Mania Disc Jockeys, Bagel King and the Easton PBA.
