The change in times was discussed at a joint board meeting on June 2, and a notice was provided to members and parents. The notice from School Business Manager Laura Ponzio stated that Easton will be adding 15 minutes to instructional time next school year.
Both towns will have changes in their school schedules. Easton will start five minutes earlier in the day and end 10 minutes later. Redding will be changing its start and end times, too.
Joel Barlow High School, shared by Easton and Redding residents, will have students get off the buses at 7 a.m.; schools will begin at 7:30 a.m. Barlow’s school day will end at 2:07 p.m.
Helen Keller Middle School in Easton and John Read Elementary School in Redding will both have students getting off the buses at 7:55 a.m.; both schools will begin at 8:05 a.m. Both Helen Keller Middle School and John Read Elementary School will end the school day at 2:50 p.m.
Samuel Staples Elementary School in Easton and John Read Middle School in Redding will both have students getting off the bus at 8:45 a.m., and both schools will begin at 8:55 a.m. Samuel Staples and John Read will both end the school day at 3:40 p.m.
