Final Solarize CT workshop is set

solar panelsConnecticut Solarize Easton-Redding-Trumbull is making it easier and more affordable for homeowners to go solar, but the program’s deadline, Feb. 9, 2014, is just a month away. The final Solarize workshop will be held at the Easton Library on Saturday, Jan. 18, at noon.

Many Easton, Redding and Trumbull residents have already signed contracts, collectively generating 100.54 kW of power, bringing Solarize Easton-Redding-Trumbull to Tier 3 pricing. As the number of homeowners who install solar increases, the price drops for everyone in Solarize Easton-Redding-Trumbull.

“It’s great that so many residents have been able to take advantage of the program, including Easton First Selectman Adam Dunsby,” said Cathy Alfandre of Easton’s Clean Energy Task Force. “I think we all realize that utility rates are only going up.  Solarize provides an opportunity to bring that cost down permanently and do something good for the environment too.  With the variety of financing and leasing options available, solar is now affordable. With Solarize, we hope to reach Tier 5 pricing, the lowest available for our residents.”

Homeowners interested in learning more can attend the final Solarize Financing Workshop. The workshop will focus on the financing options available to Easton residents.

Homeowners who have already had home evaluations are encouraged to bring their proposals to the workshop and ask questions specific to their home.

Sunlight Solar, the official installer for Solarize Easton-Redding-Trumbull, will host the event, provide refreshments, and answer questions about the program and how solar works.

Easton’s final meeting is Saturday, Jan. 18 , from noon to 2 p.m. at the Easton Library community room, 691 Morehouse Road.

In exchange for outreach support from the towns, Easton, Redding and Trumbull’s chosen installer, Sunlight Solar, is offering discounted pricing to the three towns’ residents.
