Rushad Eggleson to give concert tonight at Jesse Lee Church

Rushad Eggleston

Rushad Egglestson will perform at Jesse Lee Church in Easton tonight.

Rushad Egglestson will perform at Jesse Lee Church, tonight, Feb. 19. Rushad Eggleston is a brilliant improviser of fiddle styles on the cello and was the first string student to receive a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston.

He was a member of the Grammy-nominated group, Fiddlers 4, with Michael Doucet, Bruce Molsky and Darol Anger.

It’s anyone’s guess what may happen when Rushad takes the stage.

As an added bonus, some local musicians from the area, who recently formed the acoustic string band “Cricket Tell the Weather,”will be opening the concert. This string band is made up fiddler Andrea Asprelli and guitarist Jason Borisoff (Andrea and Jason were awarded first place in the Podunk Bluegrass Songwriting Competition in 2011), along with Doug Goldstein’s on Banjo, multi-instrumentalist Dan Tressler on mandolin, and at just 18, bassist Hans Bilger.

Suggested Donations are $10 — $20, but any amount is appreciated. Jesse Lee Church is located at 25 Flat Rock Road in Easton, less than two miles off Exit 46 of the Merritt Parkway. Contact Sue Truax, 203-215-9277 with any questions.
