icy roadsDrivers in Easton, Conn. should be wary of slippery roads tonight, due to freezing rain and snow.

The National Weather Service has issued winter weather advisory in effect from 6 this evening until 7 Sunday morning.

Freezing rain and snow is forecast for interior portions of southern Connecticut. As much as one inch of snow is possible along with ice.

Temperatures will be just below freezing, around 30.

“The combination of snow and glaze of ice will make travel difficult tonight,” the weather service said. Visibility may also be limited.

The forecast calls for rain to begin early this afternoon. The high will be near 39, with winds from the southeast around 8 mph.

There will be a mix of rain and snow tonight, before midnight, then periods of snow and freezing rain. The low will be around 31 as winds shift from the northeast at 7 mph.

Sunday morning expect rain, snow and freezing rain before 9. Later, the day will be cloudy with a high near 42.

There will be a slight chance of snow Sunday night, and it will be cold, with a low around 25.

Skies are expected to clear overnight with Monday being mostly sunny with a high near 41.
