A coffee and conversation event April 5 at the Easton Baptist Church, 29 Church Road, drew about 50 people, more than expected and enough to keep the church alive.

‘A true miracle:’ Easton community rallies to save church

It is the members’ fervent prayer that the 183-year-old church will be reborn and once again prosper. To that end, they held a coffee event on April 5 with the goal of engaging the community in conversation and received an answer to their prayers.

The salary lists are based on calendar year W-2 earnings for 2013, supplied by the Tri-board of Education and Easton controller’s staff. Central office employees work for three school districts: Easton, Redding and Region 9, with each board contributing 33.33% of their pay.

The Easton Baptist Church sanctuary is well kept despite the small size of its membership. Church treasurer Vincent Tanner keeps everything fresh and in good working order.

Baptist church in crisis seeks rebirth

To engage the community in deciding whether the church will be reborn or die, the congregation will hold a coffee and conversation event on Saturday, April 5, at 9:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome.
